Our Rooster Named Chuck
It is amazing to see the personalities of animals and how they get along and adapt into their life styles, and how they take on personalities of other animals they are raised with. A year ago we moved from our city and bought our home here in the country. My husband decided he wanted to raise chickens. So we started a flock of chickens.
I met a lovely lady who gave my grandchildren four runner ducklings and with them was a baby chick who was hatched in the incubator with the four runner ducklings. It was the funniest thing to watch because the little chicken thought he was a duck.
So we took the ch from chicken and uck from duck and now our rooster has the name chuck. He has the cutest personality and he runs all over free ranging with the flock of chickens but thinks he is a duck.Chuck is very friendly, the kids hold him and he even rides on the handlebars of their bikes in the yard. Even funnier then Chuck thinking he is a duck, but the Ducks think they are chickens and are even laying their eggs on chicken nests with chicken eggs. Chuck is not an ordinary chicken he has become a family pet.
