We love to pamper and spoil our children from the moment they’re born. We’ll design things for them, we’ll create rooms for them, and we’ll fill those rooms with expenses gifts, presents and decor to make them feel like the most loved child on the planet.
You can show a lot of love for your children in hundreds of ways, but nothing gets a “wow!” like a new bedroom does. To give your children the ultimate bedroom to host birthday parties, sleepovers and other fun activities, here are three easy steps that you can make to their bedroom to turn it into the ultimate hangout spot for kids.
Don’t think like an adult when it comes to furniture, think like a kid! Who wouldn’t want an awesome bed shaped like a plane or a car? That’s possible with these toddler beds for boys and girls that come in all kinds of shapes, sizes and designs. Don’t think modern decor that adults would like, think colourful, silly and amazing.
Thinking of getting some chairs? How about some bean bags instead? With a couple of large bean bags, your children will have comfortable furniture to sit on, sleep in and move around their room. It’s more fun and comfortable to sit on a luscious beanbag as opposed to a solid wooden chair. How about tables? Make sure they’re colourful and fit the theme of the rest of the room, and give them plenty of drawers and storage to keep all of their toys, games and collectables.
Keep going with the bright and colourful themes. Even better, how about wallpapers and posters of their favourite characters and cartoons? If your child loves Marvel characters such as the Avengers, then how about some large posters, Ironman decals flying around the room, and maybe even Spiderman figures dangling from the ceiling.
If your children like Star Wars, then about how hanging several fighter planes and spaceships from the ceilings, and paint the ceiling black to replicate the feeling of space. With their nightlight, make it shine onto the ceiling to illuminate your creation to give them a peaceful view as they sleep.
Last but not least, entertainment. Aside from the regular toys such as Lego, action figures and dolls, how about video games? There are hundreds of fun child-oriented games such as sports and action games that can be played on the latest consoles. Consoles like Nintendo’s Wii U and the upcoming Nintendo Switch are good examples of family friendly consoles that can be kept in your child’s room. With the upcoming Nintendo Switch, your child can take the console with them and treat it like a portable games console too.
Don’t forget the non-video game entertainment as well. For example, Lego bricks could be stored safely in neatly organised chests and drawers, and give them a place to store their comic collections so it’s easy for them to look for specific volumes and watch their collections grow as they grow older.
