As a mother and a grandmother of small children the safety and well-being of my kids growing up and now my grandchildren who I care for have always been my main priority. I have always made sure they were safe in car seats and seat buckles. Everyday there are car accidents and children have been injured and even had losses to car accidents which some could have been prevented by proper safety and inspection of car seats.
When shopping for a new car seat, it is very important to make sure to do research on the makes and models of car seats , look up reviews from other parents and see how they are safety wise. Carefully make your selection before just buying any car seat to save money. It is nice to save money ,but make sure the safety rating is a good review or feedback and check the recall list. After you have purchased your new seat don’t forget to fill out safety recall information and send it in to assure your child’s safety.
It is also important to make sure your not using an old car seat that has been in a car crash to ensure the safety of your little one. Another great safety tip is to watch videos and read booklet or instruction manual to make sure you have properly installed the car seat and buckles in as well as whether they be rear or front facing. There are certain ages to which the car seat should be facing one way or the other . There are a variety of seats from infants to toddlers on up according to age and weight.
I myself am researching infant car seats because I have a brand new grand baby due this February and I want to make sure he will be safe as well as comfortable in his new seat. If your anything like me when it comes to your children or grandchildren then you put their safety first. That’s why I am going to Cars.com because they have a car seat safety check and they show you the latch system or how to properly buckle your child in. They also have a link for you to find a safety check station near you to help you learn how to properly install your child’s seat.
